Google Review QR Code: Get More Reviews (the Right Way)

Happy customers rarely leave a review on their own. The usual reason is not unwillingness but effort: finding your listing and the review button takes too many taps. A QR code that opens the review form directly removes that effort.

This guide shows where to find the correct link, where to put the code, and how to ask without breaking Google’s review policies.

Step 1: get your review link

The best link opens the “write a review” form for your business, not just your Maps listing. Google gives you this link in your Business Profile.

  • On a computer, open your Business Profile (search for your business name on Google while signed in as the owner).
  • Choose “Read reviews”, then “Get more reviews”.
  • Copy the link. It usually starts with https://g.page/r/ and ends with /review.
  • If you know your Place ID, https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=YOUR_ID also opens the review form.

Step 2: make the QR code

Paste the link into the Google Review QR code generator. Add your logo or brand colours if you like; the scan score under the preview tells you if a design choice makes it harder to read.

Before printing, scan it with a phone that is not signed in to your owner account. You should land on the star rating form for your business.

Step 3: put it where the good moment happens

Follow Google’s rules

Google removes reviews that break its policies, and repeated problems can affect your profile. Two rules matter most when you ask for reviews with a QR code.

  • No incentives. Do not offer discounts, freebies, contest entries or anything else in exchange for a review.
  • No review gating. Ask every customer, not only the ones you expect to be happy. Do not send unhappy customers to a private form and happy ones to Google.
  • Do not write reviews for your own business or ask staff to. Reply politely to every review, good or bad; future customers read the replies too.

Simple wording that works

  • “Enjoyed your visit? Tell others on Google. It takes 30 seconds.”
  • “Scan to review us on Google. We read every review.”
  • “Your feedback helps a small local business.”

Good to know

Customers need a Google account to post a review. The code cannot pre-select a star rating. QRizeo codes have no tracking, so check new reviews in your Business Profile rather than counting scans.
