How to make a UPI QR code

  1. Find your UPI ID (also called VPA) in your payment app’s profile. It looks like name@bank, for example shopname@okaxis.
  2. Enter it exactly. Add the payee name as it appears on your bank account, so customers can check they are paying the right person.
  3. Leave the amount empty for a counter code customers reuse, or enter a fixed amount for one invoice or one product.
  4. Add a short note such as an invoice number if you want it to appear in the payment.
  5. Make a ₹1 test payment from another phone before printing.
  6. For a shop counter, press “Print standee” to print a Scan & Pay card with your name, UPI ID and a safety note for customers.

Field-by-field help

UPI ID (VPA)
Format: name@handle. The tool checks the shape, but only a test payment proves the ID is active.
Payee name
Shown to the payer in many apps. Use the name your bank has on file so it matches what the app displays.
Amount (INR)
Optional. With an amount, every scan asks for that exact sum. Without it, the customer types the amount.
Note
Optional, up to a short line. Useful for invoice or table numbers.

Where UPI codes are used

Shop and stall counters

Print an open-amount code at 8–10 cm and stick it where customers can scan without leaning over the counter. The built-in standee layout adds your shop name, UPI ID and a “Scan & Pay” heading in four colours.

Invoices and bills

Add a fixed-amount code with the invoice number as the note, so payments are easy to match.

Tuition, rent and society dues

A fixed monthly amount saves people typing it every time.

Donation boxes and events

An open-amount code lets people choose what to give.

Important limits

  • This is a personal or basic merchant UPI link, not a payment gateway. You see payments in your own bank or UPI app; QRizeo never sees or processes them.
  • Some apps limit payments to personal UPI IDs or show a warning for large amounts. For regular business use, a merchant account from your bank or payment app is recommended.
  • Ask customers to check the payee name on their screen before paying. Printed codes can be covered by fake stickers, so check your counter code regularly.

Questions people ask

How do I print a counter standee?
